Degrees and Credentials: Erfan has earned his M.Sc. in Urban and Regional Planning and B.Sc. in Urban Planning.
Research Interests: Erfan’s research focuses on data-driven approaches to urban policy analysis, with a strong emphasis on geospatial data science and sustainable urban development. Exploring how the built environment influences mobility patterns, public safety, and quality of life across neighborhoods. Erfan’s current work examines sustainable urban form in Charlotte, the impact of urban form on crime rates, light-rail infrastructure on car ownership, and residential mobility using large-scale spatial and temporal datasets. He is particularly interested in contributing to the science of cities through computational tools and evidence-based solutions that promote more livable, equitable, and resilient communities.
