Graduate Award Announcement!

The Public Policy Program is delighted to announce that Dr. Eleonora Davalos has won the Graduate Dean’s Dissertation Award for 2018! Her dissertation is entitled “Strategies, Incentives, and Decisions: Illicit Crop Control in Colombia.” The judges noted that her topic was rarely studied, her findings were surprising, and the work “adds a great deal to the discipline.” UNC Charlotte will nominate her dissertation for the national competition held by the Council of Graduate Schools. Dr. Jennifer Troyer chaired her committee. Her committee members were Dr. John Szmer, Dr. Steve Billings (Colorado-Boulder) and Dr. Stephanie Moller. Eleonora is tenure-track Professor in the Department of Economics (in the School of Economics and Finance) at EAFIT University in Medellin, Colombia.
