Chris Thomas

Prior to beginning his Ph.D. studies, Chris Thomas earned a Master of Arts in Leadership (Business) from Trinity Western University and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Maine. He has over 14 years of law enforcement experience, having served in a variety of operational and specialized roles. Chris has had the opportunity to present internationally to government, policy, and academic audiences on topics including security, economic development, and the implications of artificial intelligence for the security sector. He has also served as a police union representative. His current research interests include public safety reform, security policy, and the application of emerging technologies in public safety.
