Degrees and Credentials: Dede is a policy expert and an entrepreneur with an interdisciplinary background in management, conflict & collaboration, public administration and international relations. She is passionate about finding sustainable solutions to poverty, conflict and migration issues in Africa. Her current research focuses on US aid-based poverty reduction policy and the role of local institutions in sustainable poverty reduction strategies in Africa. She is a research assistant on community-University and faculty-student collaboration projects and a teaching assistant in communication research methods at UNC Charlotte. She is also the founder and CEO of Language Services & Consulting, LLC. Dede holds a BS in Aviation Administration from Farmingdale College, a CAS in Conflict & Collaboration from Syracuse University, an MA in International Relations from Syracuse University, and a MPA from Syracuse University.
Research Interests: Poverty, migration, and conflict issues in Africa
Dissertation: US aid-based poverty reduction policy and the role of local institutions in poverty reduction strategies in Africa.
Publications: Using civically engaged research to promote young Black and Latino children’s well-being: lessons from interdisciplinary community-university, faculty-student collaboration (co-publication with Dr. Potochnick et. Al).
